Owner & Designer

I often am asked, "how did you get into floristry?"

It's not a common job, especially when I started in 2010, I had a hard time explaining to my people that I was going to make a career of "playing with flowers.. "

I believe my path for this medium of artistry started at an early age, when I grew up exploring and appreciating nature with both my parents.

Being raised by each of them separately – I felt like I had a foot in both worlds.

A background in natural sciences from my dad who is a biology teacher, as well as a background in creative expression from my mum who is an artist and designer.

As a result, my keen interest and crafting with flowers and foliage naturally grew over the years into quite the passion.

It wasn't until later in life however that I realized that passion could be turned into a career!

The long and short of the story goes like this:

After graduating high school I spent a few years working on and off at a Winnipeg retail flower shop, in between semesters out in Vancouver; attending Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Realizing how much I missed floral art when I was in school, I uprooted to Toronto to get my official diploma from the Canadian Institute of Floral Design, before coming full circle back home to Winnipeg. From there I made the decision to expand beyond the retail experience of the industry and specialize in event and wedding floral design.

Going solo with the creation of Fache Florals in 2010, has led to several incredible seasons of connecting with, and creating florals for a wide variety of cliental, while working alongside some of the most amazing and inspiring vendors in the industry!

All while making time to spend with my sweetheart Phil (whom I married August 2012), our baby girl Ophelia (March 2018), and our beautiful rescue pups June and Jura.

Despite it's challenges - being the owner, accountant, secretary, consultant, product-cleaner, bucket-washer, solo designer, delivery driver, and set up master - I am so grateful for this creative career path that I get to call my own.

I am a different person than I was when this journey began, and so appreciate growing with my profession.

It is a great feeling doing what you love, and loving what you do!

Thank you to all my awesome clients, industry partners, friends, and family, for the endless love and support.

Cheers,

Brit Fache

Hey Brit!

Calvin and I just wanted to reach out to you and extend our gratitude for all your hard work on and leading up to our wedding day! The flowers looked unbelievable (even the ones that managed to withstand the torrential downpour!) and there’s no one else we trusted to bring our vision to life more than you! You are amazing at what you do, and we are definitely going to be recommending you to some future bride-to-be’s!

Thank you so much for everything!

Hi Britney,

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your amazing work. The bouquets were even more beautiful than I imagined they could be - I wish I could have kept them perfect forever (I did remember to bring a flower press with me to Canada so spent the day-after-the-wedding pressing some of the small buds to keep :)

The unique, woodsy bouts were perfect, as were the corsages - it's not a "thing" here in the U.K - so my mum was very skeptical about wearing flowers on her wrist but she loved it! They were so elegant and natural.

Thanks again - I am so so happy we managed to have you be part of our day!

All the best,

Hi Britney,
First of all, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the work you put into our wedding yesterday. When you came to deliver the bouquet I got so emotional because they were everything I dreamed of and more! We had so many compliments and people were truly wowed by the amazing blooms you used, the different textures and colours.

I just loved every single element!

You completely captured my vision and the flowers just felt so "us". You are amazingly talented!

And lastly, it felt like I had a wonderful friend taking part of that element of the day and I just loved that feeling. Thank you thank you thank you!
